Phew! Finally uploading my display pieces for my A Level "Representation of Women" and "Transitions" projects.
This particular piece was my 12 hour exam piece (It actually only took 9, and I spent the last three mindlessly touching it up until I stopped myself >.< ). I'm quite proud of it because I managed to work in a real mix of media for once; it includes collage, sculpture, coloured pencil and copic marker work, yay! Unfortunately, I was in quite a rush with the collage, so I ended up leaving in crappy headlines! Please forgive me ;_;
The idea behind the piece is that, given the theme was "transitions", there is the elusive dream of the 2d to 3d transition. We artists can only dream of our fantastical characters springing to life from the canvas - and in this image I've attempted to show a stereotypical damsel-in-distress trying to breach the dimensional barrier and successfully break into the 3rd dimension ^^ But not only does the beautiful heroine spring to life, so do the pages that bind her to 2d-land! Which begins a terrible conflict in which the ' pages ' drag the princess back into a world in which she doesn't want to exist.
That's the basic gist anyway. There is a glimmer of hope in the piece as she does just break through the barrier - but will she escape or be dragged back? I guess it's up to you.
I'll upload a better photo when I can. But noes, one of the fingers broke off! OAO By the way, the piece is about double the size of this, so imagine an A2 board squared off and you got it ;D
Oh, and on a side note, I won't be uploading the other pieces in any particular order - just whatever takes my fancy
My god you really managed to make it seem like shes being dragged back down,pressure against her left hand and having her right emmerge from the paper was a stroke of genius. I'm hoping you got an excellent mark for this.
Superb job on her expression for this dire situation

And I did get a good mark, an A in fact
(One of the moulded fingers broke off shortly after I got it back though! Haha.)
They probably looked at it,thought "this person likes anime and you knowthat means..instant entry to uni,awww yeah"
Need some alchemy to put it back in place?
Oh, and thanks for the comment ^^
