Hi everyone, it's been a while o_o
So ah, last time I wrote I had just started my comics internship at the londonprintstudio. Well, I've come a long way since then! Six months of hard work and play:
-I met six wonderful, inspiring artists and we became an awesome team. TEAM TEAM TEAM. I momentarily lost my antisocial tendencies.
-Those artists are: Karrie Fransman, Merlin Evans, Shamisa Debroey, Abraham Christie, Susan Yan Mach, and Lily Rose Beardshaw. Search 'em!
-Together we: taught workshops all about comics...
... and visited Brussels! THE TINTIN MUSEUMMMM...
... and created an awesome anthology called Parallel Lives, on sale now...
... and visited major publishing houses to pitch our graphic novel projects...
... and finally we curated an exhibition of all the comics we and our workshop participants had created! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.
It's been a long journey and yet it whooshed by. I created so much artwork and gained a lot of knowledge and confidence. I also created a whole new graphic novel story called Siddown! alongside still updating Cafe Suada, the second chapter of which I hope to finish soon.
And now, well, I suddenly find myself as a freelance comics artist, writer and illustrator and NOTHING HURTS. Feels good you guys. Scary, but good.
I'm going to upload all of the artwork I didn't have time to put up while I was so busy. Look forward to it! I've also been constantly blogging about my experiences on my website teahermit.co.uk, if any of you fancy catching up on what I've been doing.
And if you are interested in commissioning some new comics or illustrations, drop me an email at teahermit(at)hotmail.co.uk!
